Cricut or Silhouette? Which cutting machine is better?

When we are starting in this beautiful world of crafting and just using our scissors, the decision is easy to make. Just go to the craft store and buy the scissors (sometimes the more expensive or the most beautiful ones).

But when we want to take our crafting to the next level by buying a cutting machine things get a little complicated, because the first thing we need to know is what is the best machine?

As you already could notice, I am a Cricut lover, although I wanted to write a post to give you information and then you can make a decision, not to sell you the idea of the Cricut machine.

I am going to start by saying my reasons why I love the Cricut and some others why I like Silhouette:

Cricut (either if you buy a Maker or Explore) is very EASY to learn and use, you don’t have to do so much to create beautiful things. The machine is so nice to work with and also the library has a lot of images, projects, and fonts that you can use without bringing external files.

So if you are a beginner, maybe you will want to use Cricut at least for the first year, if after that, your creativity asks you to change, so go for it. Commands are easy to follow and understand. Cricut is friendly!

Silhouette is a good program too, very good if you are a designer, you’ll have a ton of options, it’s a very complete program, but for me, has been very complicated to understand and the machine has a lot of commands to cut.

Also, both machines of Cricut brand, the Explore, and the Maker are excellent machines, the accessories are high-quality as well. Actually, if you buy a Silhouette machine, you can use the mats and some other accessories from the Cricut brand.

The Silhouette machines are noisy and you have to do some trials before to know the exact setting to cut, Cricut has just a few options to cut almost all materials.

The Silhouette software as I said before is so complete and with the Business Edition you can export SVGs, PNGs, and more, which is very good if you’re planning to sell your creations, if not (which is most of the time for me) works so good the program without the option of exporting. We still can upload all those files and work with them without problems.

Which one do you use and why?🤩🤩
